Who We Are
Mono is banking infrastructure for Latin America — what we do, who we serve, and how we operate.
Mono is banking infrastructure for Latin America. We connect companies that move money, as part of their operation, to the Colombian banking network and Bre-B, the instant-payment scheme. Through a single API, our customers move money in and out of bank accounts, hold balances in a programmable ledger, issue cards, and orchestrate payments — without having to become a bank or build the integrations from scratch.
We exist because building financial products in Latin America is harder than it should be. Each rail (PSE, Turbo, ACH, Transfiya, Bre-B) has its own quirks, regulations, and operational rhythm. Mono absorbs that complexity behind one API so our customers can focus on what they want to build instead of on how to plumb it.
What we do
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Banking | Pay-ins (PSE), payouts (ACH, Transfiya, Mono Turbo), and card issuing on the Colombian banking network. |
| Core | Programmable ledger, spending controls, payout orchestration. |
| Bre-B Participant | Programmable on-ramp to Bre-B — Colombia's 24/7 instant-payment scheme. |
Who we serve
Colombian companies that handle money as part of their product:
- Fintechs — neobanks, digital wallets, lending products, savings products.
- Marketplaces — buyer payments, seller payouts, escrow.
- Embedded finance — non-financial products that add a financial layer (gig platforms, SaaS with billing, B2B procurement).
- EDEs and licensed entities — institutions that need a Bre-B participant connection without building it themselves.
- Treasury and corporate finance teams — programmatic payouts at scale.
How we operate
We hold the regulatory and rail-level relationships so our customers do not have to. That means:
- Native Bre-B coverage as a participant, not a reseller.
- Multi-rail bank transfers with automatic fallback so a failed Mono Turbo retries on ACH.
- Local regulation — we operate under Colombian financial regulation and sustain the controls that come with it.
- Production-grade reliability — every API call is authenticated, idempotent, and observable; every state change is webhooked.
Differentiators
What makes Mono distinct, in the way a buyer should care:
- One API, every rail. Banking, Core, and Bre-B share the same authentication, error model, and operational conventions.
- Native Bre-B. Mono is a Bre-B participant, not a passthrough — that means lower latency, full payment-key control, and direct settlement.
- Programmable ledger. Core's ledger is double-entry and append-only by design; reconciliation is a query, not a project.
- LATAM-first. We are built for Colombian rails and Latin American product teams, not retrofitted from a US-first stack.
